As you may know the Stormont
Assembly is currently considering bids
for
the Comprehensive Spending Review. This will decide the allocation of money
to all areas of public expenditure, including sport for the three years from
2008 to 2011.
As a result, funding for Sport in
Northern
Ireland
may be under severe threat.
This funding threat will be
compounded by the loss of over £4.2m to help fund the 2012 Olympic and
Paralympic Games and could result in your
organisation,
as one of our partners, having a
reduced opportunity to access Sport Northern Ireland investment in current or
future projects; if
a significant budget uplift is not secured.
This is our
only opportunity to influence the funding that will be available to sport in
Northern
Ireland
over the next 3 years
- we need your
help! Please do your best to help secure the resources for us to
invest in your work in the future by emailing the Minister for Sport. Click here
dcal@dcalni.gov.uk to express your support for
increased sports funding. To help us
further please forward this entire email to 5 of your organisation's
contacts and ask them to do the same.
