J.P.Corry Group Slemish Cup Trial

 

The off road motorcycle section of the Mid Antrim Motor Club Ltd will be promoting their Slemish Cup trial around the slopes of the famous County Antrim mountain near Broughshane on Saturday 29th  October starting at 11am from the mountain car park. We are delighted to announce that The J.P.Corry Group, The Complete Builders Suppliers, are to continue with their sponsorship of the event this year. We are deeply indebted to the J.P.Corry Group for this support, coming especially in these difficult economic times. We are also very grateful to Ballymena Borough Council who assist the event with the use of the mountain car park and toilet facilities.

 

The trial will be a counting round in the Ulster championship and the final Round of the Michelin Mid Antrim trials series, so there is a lot at stake at Slemish. The winner will receive the Mackness Slemish Cup, & replica. The Youth A winner will receive the John McCosh Memorial Trophy and replica. A copy of the current championship positions are attached to this release. George Robinson currently leads in the series but could be caught as all the remaining places are running very close, so it’s all to play for on the slippery slopes of Slemish.

 

The trial will have sections for seniors grades A,B,C & D and youths grades A & B. Unfortunately the mountain terrain does not cater for youth C & D at this venue.

 

The results announcement will be held in the Halfway House Bar, Carnlough Road, Broughshane immediately after the event. Our thanks to Pat Hamill and his staff for all their help and support.

 

The awards for this event, our Shane Cup trial, the Michelin Mid Antrim Trials Series and the MCUI Irish & Ulster championships will be distributed at a special awards evening which will be held in the Michelin Athletic Club, Woodside Road, Ballymena on Friday 11th November 2011 at 8pm. Full details of this ticket only event will be announced in the near future.
