The
Met office are telling us that spring has arrived and the Off Road section of
the Mid Antrim Motor Club are hoping that they are right, so that the heavy
snow that caused the postponement of their first event of 2010, their Irish
Championship Shane Cup trial can now take place on Saturday 13th
March 2010 starting at 11-00am. at the popular
The
trial takes in an approx 4 mile lap around the forest with sections in all
three rivers that flow through the forest. Clerk of the Course Willie Dickey
and his band of helpers will be marking sections befitting the status of the
event but not forgetting that Grade D competitors do not want a ‘killing’ so
their sections will reflect what grade D should be all about, a bit of good
fun. There has been a lot of talk recently right up to MCUI trials committee
level about the severity of sections so we hope that, as usual, the Mid Antrim
marked sections will suit all grades using the ‘3 line’ principal for marking.
All senior and youth grades A & B will be catered for.
This
will be the first round of the 2010 Michelin Mid Antrim Club Trials Series
details of which were released on a separate press release.
The
results announcement will be held in the Glensway Tavern, Martinstown, on the
way back to Ballymena, immediately after the event where refreshments will be
provided by Mr. Colm McGlade and his staff.
