Leinster Motor Club is running a fundraising Trial in Inchanappa house on the 28th of March with all the proceeds going to Keith Clarke’s rehabilitation Fund

Most of you will remember Keith who was riding Trials Up until the end of 2007.  Keith was one of our top up and coming young Trials riders who represented
Ireland at the Inter Centre Team Trial at Junior and Senior level.

On
the 27th July 2009, Keith was involved in a motorbike accident involving a collision with a car.
He suffered severe injuries and underwent an eight hour lifesaving operation in the mater hospital,
Dublin. The accident left Keith paralyzed from the chest down due to severe injuries to the spinal cord, T3 to T7(thoracic cord) was shattered completely. Keith had also extensive head injuries and suffered a broken leg and multiple fractures.

Keith spent three months recovering in the mater hospital and was then transferred to the National Rehabilitation center in Dun laoghire, where he spent 2 months. He made great progress in
Dun Laoghaire regaining the strength of his upper body and learning to live with his disability. Keith is currently in a wheelchair and receives physiotherapy on a weekly basis. He is living at home with his parents.

I would like to thank the Stokes Family for the use of the Venue and
Motorcycling Ireland for offering to waive the cost of the permit.  This means that all money taken in on the day will go to the fund for Keith.

The Trial will be a team trial and will cater for everyone from Grade A to absolute beginners.  I will post more info over the next week or two as the final preparations are made for the Trial.

Thanks,
Brian
