Presentation of Awards Evening

The off road motorcycle section of the Mid Antrim Motor Club Ltd in conjunction with the trials committee of the M.C.U.I.(UC) are delighted to announce details of their prize distribution evening.

At this special event the awards for the Michelin Mid Antrim Trials Championship, the J.P.Corry Slemish Cup trial and the Shane Cup trial will be given out together with all awards for the M.C.U.I. Ulster and Irish Championships including the summer series.

The event will be held on Friday 13th November 2009 starting at 8pm in the Michelin Athletic Club, Woodside Road, Ballymena and will consist of a buffet supper, film show and disco. There will be a raffle for some super prizes including a new Michelin trials tyre.

SPECIAL GUEST

We are delighted to have Alexz Wigg, World Junior Trials Champion as our special guest to present the awards. Alexz dominated the early rounds of the championship so making his points tally unbeatable that he left the championship early to compete at the senior level in the later rounds. His minder for the campaign was of course our own former Ulster and Irish champion Harold Crawford from Moneyrea. We will be delighted to welcome Alexz to Ballymena for our awards evening.

New Shane Cup The Shane Cup trial was the first event ever promoted by the newly formed Mid Antrim Motor Club on 7th December 1946. It was won by Terry Hill riding a BSA.

The original trophy disappeared many years ago, in fact during my now 40 year’s involvement with this club I have never seen the original trophy. The Crawford family have decided to donate a new Shane Cup to the club, in memory of their son Barrie. This new trophy will be presented at the awards evening.

Tickets for this special evening are available now costing £8 for adult and £5 for youth. To facilitate catering this will be a ticket only event, so please don’t be disappointed, get your’s early. Available from Mid Antrim committee members and through the website.
