SHANE CUP TRIAL

The motorcycle section of the Mid Antrim Motor Club Ltd will be promoting their Irish Championship Shane Cup Trial on Saturday 10^th March 2007 at Parkmore Forest, Glenariff starting at 11am.

The trial is a round of the Irish championship and all senior grades and Youth A & B grades will be catered for at this popular venue. The club would like to thank the forest service for all their help and assistance in once again securing the use of the forest for this event. This entire North Antrim area is now a preserved zone for certain types of birds and this can cause difficulties when promoting sporting events at designated times such as nesting. Our event just falls on the edge of the time slot so we have had to put some restrictions in place to meet with the preservation order but we are only to happy to oblige to ensure the future use of the forests for motor sport. Our club aim for many years has been to USE our beautiful mountains, forests & glens, not ABUSE them.

Clerk of the Course, Jimmy Dickey and his course markers will no doubt mark out sections to reflect the status of the event, but the Mid Antrim Club pride itself in also catering for the Grade D clubmen so the Grade D sections will also reflect the needs of this grade.

The prize distribution will be held in the Glensway Tavern, Martinstown immediately after the event where awards and banter will be given out in equal measure. Our sincere thanks to Colm McGlade and his staff for all their help and assistance.
